Events Sheryl has programmed over the years include, but are not limited to: The Deadline Club’s “Outsmarting Fake News and Alt-Facts” panel in March 2017; The Root’s Young, Fabulous and Female Series from 2010-2012, and in 2016 (Los Angeles; Atlanta; New York; Philadelphia; Washington, DC); The Root/WURD’s Our Power, Our Promise panel luncheon with lawmakers (including Rep. Terri Sewell, D, Alabama), media and civil rights leaders coinciding with the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia; Davenport University’s 2014 Teach-Off for its College of Urban Education; and the Nia Enterprises Leadership Summit Series (2002-2005) hosted at the Kellogg School of Management.

Other events for which Sheryl has provided communications, content, moderation and project management support include: the State of HIV in Black America 2016; The Root 100 Ball (2011-2013); The Root’s Focus on Obesity conference in 2012 hosted at The Washington Post headquarters; The Root’s 2011 “Open for Questions” live stream session at The White House with Senior Advisor to President Obama Valerie Jarrett and Domestic Policy Council Director Melody Barnes; and the 1997 Fortune 500 CEO and CIO Forums.

Additionally, Sheryl developed Season 1 of The Root Live webcast on business and money hosted by Harriette Cole, with guests including Mellody Hobson (president of Ariel Investments and chair of Dreamworks Animation); Portia Wu (special assistant to President Obama on labor and workforce issues); and Marc Morial (president of the National Urban League).
